Abouts CISF :

• The CISF is an armed force of the Union established under an Act of Parliament, the “Central Industrial Security Forces Act, 1968 (50 of 1968)”.
• The strength of the force established in the year 1969 with a strength of 3129 had increased to 1,63,613 as on 01.06.2021.
• CISF has 74 other organizations, 12 reserve battalions and 08 training institutes.
• As per the mandate, CISF provides security to the property and establishments as well as security to the employees of the premises.
• The CISF is providing security to strategic installations including the Department of Space, Department of Atomic Energy, airports, Delhi Metro, ports, historical monuments and core sectors of the Indian economy such as petroleum and natural gas, power, coal, steel and mining.
• CISF is also providing security to some private sector units and important government buildings in Delhi.
  Presently CISF is also providing security to protected persons classified as Z plus, Z, X, Y.
